COMPETES IN THE 17TH DANSKIN TRIATHLON

(Portland, Maine - August 1, 2006) Seven Maine women, including two breast cancer survivors, took part in the Danskin Triathlon this past Sunday, July 30th in Webster, MA. The eight-city Danskin Women's Triathlon Series paid host to over 2,400 registered athletes and to date is the largest female multi-sport series in the world. With temperatures soaring well into the 90's the Athletes swam a half-mile in the Webster Lake, biked a 12 miles, and finished with a 5 kilometer run.

The Cure Breast Cancer for ME team included Meredith Strang Burgess (Cumberland), Julie Jordan (Cumberland), Claire Parrish (Falmouth), Anne Shaw (Portland), Amy Arno (Palmyra), Abby Bliss (Cumberland) and Donna Flanigan (Falmouth). Meredith Burgess and Julie Jordan were the team's official Breast Cancer Survivor Members. The Team had been training for the past eight weeks under Adam Tielinen, of Natural Fitness in Falmouth.

The Danskin Triathlon donates it proceeds The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A minimum of 85 cents of each dollar donated goes directly to research and public awareness programs.
